This policy explains how Merchant Insight Ltd, registered in England and Wales (“we”, “us”) uses personal data when you use merchantinsight.co.uk. We are the data controller.

What we collect

• Details you give us in our forms: name, business name, email, phone number, business type, card turnover, current provider and any message.
• Answers you enter into the AI funding matcher.
• Basic technical data such as pages visited and referral link clicks, and — only with your consent — analytics and advertising cookies.

Why we use it and our legal basis

• To respond to your enquiry and arrange quotes — steps you asked us to take before a contract, and our legitimate interests.
• To pass your details to relevant payment or finance providers when you ask for a quote.
• To improve the site and measure referrals — legitimate interests, or consent where cookies are involved.

Who we share it with

Providers on our panel you ask to be introduced to, and service providers who host our website, database and email. We do not sell your data.

How long we keep it

Enquiry data is kept for up to 24 months after our last contact with you, unless we need it longer for legal reasons.

Your rights

You can ask to access, correct, delete or restrict use of your data, object to its use, or ask for a copy. Email hello@merchantinsight.co.uk. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
